SUMMER SCHEDULE OF
What is an "Affinity Space"?
The term "affinity space" was first introduced by James Paul Gee around 2004/2005. Today, there are many definitions, uses & benefits to affinity spaces. For K.B. Theatre Company, "affinity spaces" are fluid safe places for individuals that share similar passions & backgrounds to openly and respectfully converse about various topics. Affinity spaces are not necessarily goal-oriented, but for the summer of 2020, we are hosting affinity space keeping in mind the following goals:
Please note that Afro-Latinx peoples are welcome & encouraged to participate in both
the Latinx & the Black Communities' Affinity Spaces.
If you have any questions regarding these events please contact Jesús López at JELopez@KBTheatre.org
WEEK #5 | The LGBTQIA+ Community
Saturday, August 8th
11:00 am - 1:00pm (PDT) | 2:00 - 4:00pm (EDT)
MODERATOR: Ezra Anisman & Elijah Punzal
Please note that unlike our panels & workshops, our affinity spaces are not open to the public, as we want to provide the best possible experience for all of our participants. Each session will welcome 30 individuals who apply to be part of our discussions.
Please do not let this discourage you from applying as we are hoping to host more of these Affinity Spaces in the near future!
