To start off our Summer panels we have invited actors & performers of the industry to talk about how they navigate their personal identities through their work on the stage. We will also discuss cultural-consciousness in self-marketing and the differences & similarities between performance in academia & the professional world.

For this panel we have invited directors & creators of straight plays & musicals to discuss the obligations assigned to us by the dominant culture to constantly represent our identities through our work, and how this obligations sometimes prevent people of color from finding their own artistic autonomy.

Sadly, it is very common in our industry for people in positions of power to ask fellow artists to lean into stereotypes set forth by the dominant society, at this panel we have invited designers to talk about the importance of challenging these stereotypes through the design process.
